The country’s annual production will remain at about 84 tons.

WPIC experts presented a long-term forecast for the palladium market. According to their estimates, Russia not only holds first place this year with a production volume of 84.1 tons, but will also maintain its leading position throughout the second half of the decade.

South Africa remains in second place. Its production is expected to be 76.8 tons in 2025, but will decrease slightly in 2026. South African production could rise again in the coming years, approaching 76.7 tonnes by 2030.

Significantly smaller volumes will come from North America and Zimbabwe. It is predicted that their market share will gradually decline.

WPIC analysts also expect global palladium supply to consistently outstrip demand in the coming years. The imbalance could range from 7.5 to 14.9 tons annually between 2026 and 2030. Total global supply in 2025, including primary production and scrap processing, is estimated at 299.1 tons.

The forecast confirms the stability of Russia’s position as a key player in the global palladium market. At the same time, the expected supply surplus may influence the price dynamics of this strategic metal used in the automotive industry and electronics production.

Source: WPIC

Russia will remain the world’s largest palladium producer between 2026 and 2030, according to the World Platinum Investment Council (WPIC).
