The area includes a turning section, a compressor unit and an oil distribution station – this provides scheduled repairs of components, electrical and hydraulics, as well as tire fitting. Two existing repair sites – ground and underground — will continue to work within a single chain of equipment maintenance.

The new repair chamber will reduce equipment downtime, speed up repair work and increase the availability of the main mining cycles, which directly affects the production efficiency and economics of the mine.

The Suzdal deposit was discovered in 1983 – for the Soviet geological school it was a success. Gold ores did not come to the surface and hid under a thick layer of sand. They were discovered thanks to the accurate interpretation of data and the professional work of specialists.

Today Suzdal is a high-tech mine with underground production. The deposit is approached through a system of transport slopes (ramps), along which self-propelled mining equipment is delivered directly to the ore body. The annual production volume reaches 600 thousand tons of gold ore.

With the new underground repair chamber at the Suzdal mine, maintenance will become easier and faster, and equipment will be in service more often than in repair.

Source: @nordgold_plc

The Suzdal mine in Kazakhstan is creating a modern underground repair cell with a crane, welding station and lubrication station to reduce downtime and increase equipment availability.
