Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas have created a unique mobile unit for stabilizing gas condensate. New technology makes it possible to process valuable raw materials directly at deposits, including hard-to-reach Arctic regions.

Gas condensate is an extremely valuable raw material containing high-quality gasoline fractions. Its cost is significantly higher than the price of conventional oil. However, transportation and storage of this product poses serious difficulties due to the high concentration of light gases in its composition.

Traditional processing methods require the construction of capital permanent installations. Existing technologies involve heating raw materials to high temperatures, which leads to significant energy consumption. The placement of such complexes is not possible at all fields, especially in remote regions.

The development of Gubkin scientists radically changes the approach to gas condensate processing. The mobile complex can be placed directly on well pads next to production wells. This eliminates the need to transport hazardous raw materials over long distances.

The basis of the innovative technology was the use of controlled cavitation fields. A special generator creates high-frequency vibrations that are transmitted into the liquid medium. This causes an intensive degassing process, which allows for the effective separation of light hydrocarbon fractions.

Tests confirmed the significant advantages of the new technique. The technology retains up to 62% of valuable hydrocarbon components, which significantly exceeds the performance of traditional processing methods. There is also an increased quality of raw material processing.

An important environmental advantage is the absence of the need for heating, which is especially important for the fragile ecosystems of the Arctic. The development has already passed laboratory and field tests and is ready for implementation into production. Leading domestic oil and gas Companies have already shown interest in this promising technology.

The new mobile unit opens up significant prospects for the development of remote fields. The technology allows you to optimize logistics, reduce transportation costs and minimize the impact on the environment.

The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.

 Source: eprussia.ru

Scientists from the I.M.
