The innovative method has already shown impressive results in tests and is ready for implementation at Russian oil refineries.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scientists from the Institute of Automation and Control Processes, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, have made a breakthrough in the field of quality control of petroleum products. Their new technology solves a long-standing industry problem &#8211; measurement inaccuracy when analyzing multi-component characteristics of fuels and specialty hydrocarbon fractions.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously used methods did not take into account the correlation of errors at different stages of data processing, which led to significant errors. The new development offers a fundamentally different approach using an improved algorithm for setting up a multidimensional error predictor.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur method is based on multivariate time series models,\u201d explains Oleg Snegirev, candidate of technical sciences. \u201cThis allows us to take into account the dynamic dependencies of measurement errors, significantly reducing the level of error and improving control of key indicators.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technology is of particular value for the production of Arctic fuels and drilling fluid bases, where quality requirements are especially stringent. The development includes a method for constructing virtual analyzers to improve the fractional composition of products in distillation columns.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The head of the study, Doctor of Technical Sciences Andrey Torgashov, notes: \u201cWe have created the first system capable of accurately assessing the complex characteristics of errors and increasing the accuracy of control of even the most complex deep oil refining processes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tests confirmed the effectiveness of the technology &#8211; the average error in quality assessment decreased by about a third compared to existing methods.
