The market for cryogenic fuels, in particular liquefied natural gas (LNG), is actively growing. According to analysts, in 2024 its volume amounted to $5.2 billion, and by 2033 it could reach 10 billion. In Russia, the development of this area is supported at the state level: according to the Energy Strategy, by 2029 the number of LNG vehicles will increase to 6.5 thousand.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Students of St. Petersburg Mining University<\/a> are already contributing to the development of the industry. They are doing internships at Gazprom LNG Technologies LLC, a company that is engaged in the construction of LNG complexes, logistics and development of refueling infrastructure.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

In February 2025, the university and the company entered into a partnership agreement. This allows students<\/a> not only gain practical skills, but also participate in real projects. Company representatives evaluate their knowledge, help in preparing theses, and even assign mentors the status of \u201cIndustrial Mentor of Students.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

General Director of Gazprom LNG Technologies LLC Ivan Kozhevnikov emphasizes the importance of practice for future engineers:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cIn-depth industrial training helps students better understand technology and adapt more quickly to the workplace. Skills in professions such as repairman or electrician are especially valuable – they provide a real advantage in employment.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

The demand for research engineers in this field is growing. The company needs specialists who can develop innovative solutions and work with modern equipment. In the context of import substitution and technological development, young personnel play a key role.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Cooperation between the Mining University and Gazprom LNG Technologies is an example of successful training of personnel for a promising industry. The introduction of LNG into the transport and energy sectors opens up new opportunities for the economy, and students are already participating in this process.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
