The project is being implemented as part of the Priority 2030 program and can change approaches to the mining industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a new industrial biotechnology laboratory, researchers are using microorganisms to bioleach metals. This method not only increases gold production, but also minimizes harm to the environment. Particular attention is paid to working in arctic conditions, where traditional technologies are often ineffective.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Advantages of the approach<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Environmental friendliness: Reduced toxic impact on the environment.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Economics: Processing of dumps and tailings, which occupy thousands of hectares in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Versatility: Technologies are adapted to work at low temperatures.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scientists are now analyzing ore samples and testing microbial cultures. The introduction of developments into industry is planned in the coming years. The global metals biomining market is projected to reach $3.6 billion by 2027.\u00a0 New technologies could make Russia a leader in environmentally friendly gold mining.
