The technology is based on X-ray fluorescence analysis and significantly speeds up the research process.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The traditional method for determining ferrous iron, titration, requires complex sample preparation and is time consuming. Siberian scientists have proposed an alternative: X-ray fluorescence analysis makes it possible to obtain accurate data after minimal processing of the material.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur technology not only saves time, but also increases the reliability of the results,\u201d explains Viktor Chubarov, head of the laboratory of the Institute of Chemical Chemistry SB RAS. \u201cThis is especially important when creating standard rock samples.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Advantages of the new method<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimal preparation of samples \u2013 just grind and compress the material\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>High measurement accuracy\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Get results quickly\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Ability to analyze small rock fragments\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study has already been published, and the principles of operation of the new method are described in detail. Scientists note that the technology can find application in <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/https-geoconversation-org-kogda-tender-vazhnee-geologii\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/https-geoconversation-org-kogda-tender-vazhnee-geologii\/\">geological exploration<\/a>, mining and environmental monitoring.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development of Siberian scientists opens up new opportunities for laboratory research. A simplified analysis procedure will speed up learning <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/chto-meshaet-otkryvat-novye-mestorozhdeniya\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/chto-meshaet-otkryvat-novye-mestorozhdeniya\/\">deposits <\/a>minerals and quality control of raw materials. Experts predict that the method will be in demand both in the scientific community and in industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new technology demonstrates the potential of Russian scientific developments and can become an important tool in geochemical research.
