Russia became the main supplier of precious stones to the republic, providing 72% of the total volume of purchases.

For a month, Kazakhstan purchased diamonds only from CIS countries. Armenia became the second most important supplier after Russia. In addition to diamonds, imports of other precious stones have increased sharply – sevenfold, although the total volume remains small ($87.3 thousand). Here Russia also retained its leadership, providing 70% of supplies.

Afghanistan remains another key partner of Kazakhstan in this area, which accounted for 26% of purchases.

The diamond trade between Russia and Kazakhstan goes beyond simple commodity exchange. It is an important tool for creating long-term production chains and developing the processing industry.

Kazakhstan is actively developing its own jewelry industry, and Russian supplies of raw materials can become the basis for the growth of local production. In the context of sanctions and changes in global logistics, such cooperation acquires not only economic, but also strategic value.

Strengthening the partnership in the diamond market opens up new opportunities for both countries. Russia is strengthening its position in the region, and Kazakhstan is gaining access to high-quality raw materials for the development of the jewelry industry.
