The project will be implemented at the Tukaevsky-1 site in the Nizhnekamsk and Zainsky regions of the republic.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The site allocated for construction was carefully <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/geohimiya-v-polyah-kak-ustroena-rabota-i-chem-ona-vazhna\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/geohimiya-v-polyah-kak-ustroena-rabota-i-chem-ona-vazhna\/\">studied<\/a>. In August, the State Reserves Commission (SRC) confirmed its suitability for creating CO2 storage. Hydrodynamic modeling has shown that more than 85 million tons of carbon dioxide can be safely stored here.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technology developed by Tatneft in 2021 allows CO2 to be injected into geological formations in a liquefied state. This significantly reduces emissions of harmful substances into <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/sekretnoe-oruzhie-ili-nauka\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/sekretnoe-oruzhie-ili-nauka\/\">atmosphere.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the coming years, it is planned to create a large center for the capture and storage of carbon dioxide on the basis of the Nizhnekamsk industrial zone. This will not only improve the environmental situation in the Volga region, but will also be an important step in the development of \u201cgreen\u201d technologies in Russia.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is in line with global trends in reducing our carbon footprint. Its implementation will allow Tatarstan to take a leading position in the field of environmentally friendly industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The construction of a CO2 storage facility is an important step in the development of the oil and gas industry and environmental protection.
