The cost of the project exceeds 1 billion rubles, but its capabilities will pay off the investment. The device will be able to monitor the surface around the clock <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/planeta-zemlya-i-snezhok-na-novogodnej-elke-chto-mezhdu-nimi-obshhego\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/planeta-zemlya-i-snezhok-na-novogodnej-elke-chto-mezhdu-nimi-obshhego\/\">Earth<\/a>, regardless of weather and lighting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Oculus will be equipped with an antenna with a diameter of 4 meters and a radar system that will be able to record changes with an accuracy of 5 millimeters. This will allow you to track:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>pipeline displacements;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>thawing permafrost;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>oil spills;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>condition of farmland;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>water level in rivers and reservoirs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the general director of New Space, Anton Alekseev, similar foreign satellites cost about 5 billion rubles. The Russian device will consist of 80% domestic components, which will reduce dependence on imports.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If funding for the next phase of the project continues, Oculus could be in orbit within three years. The satellite will provide detailed monitoring of construction projects, ice conditions and other critical facilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The corporation has already attracted the first <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/intervyu-s-borisom-kurczevym-chto-nuzhno-dlya-uspeha-startapa\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/intervyu-s-borisom-kurczevym-chto-nuzhno-dlya-uspeha-startapa\/\">investments<\/a> and is negotiating further funding. Its technologies will allow solving a wide range of problems \u2013 from environmental monitoring to infrastructure control.
