The decision is related to the need to optimize costs in conditions of instability in the global diamond market.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not the first such measure in 2025. In April, ALROSA mothballed placer mines <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/ai-nahodit-mestorozhdeniya\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/ai-nahodit-mestorozhdeniya\/\">deposits <\/a>Khara-Mas and Ochuos, which are being developed by its subsidiary Almazy Anabara. Hot storage mode allows you to quickly resume work as soon as the market situation improves.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the company, it was planned to <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/sposoby-dobychi-zolota\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/sposoby-dobychi-zolota\/\">get<\/a> no more than 1 million carats of diamonds \u2013 this is only 3% of the total annual production. Thanks to the suspension, ALROSA will reduce costs by 9 billion rubles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is one of ALROSA\u2019s key projects, located in the Oleneksky district of Yakutia, 75 km north of the Arctic Circle. Production here began in 2018, and the field is considered strategically important for the company.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company continues to monitor market conditions and is ready to resume work as soon as it becomes economically feasible.
