This is almost twice as much as for the same period last year, when losses amounted to 43 billion rubles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deputy Energy Minister Dmitry Islamov noted that negative factors continue <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/magnitnye-buri-vliyayut\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/magnitnye-buri-vliyayut\/\">influence<\/a> on the industry. The main reasons include declining demand for coal, rising production and logistics costs, and tightening environmental regulations.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the implementation of anti-crisis programs, many enterprises remain unprofitable. According to Rosstat statistics, in 2024 the share of profitable companies decreased to 46.7% compared to 68.5% in 2023. The total loss of the industry last year amounted to 112.6 billion rubles, and in 2025 an increase to 250 billion is predicted.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The government is preparing a package of measures to stabilize the situation. Among the possible options:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discounts on rail transportation of coal;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Export quotas from key regions;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Programs for restructuring and reorganization of enterprises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experts emphasize that without government assistance, many mines and open-pit mines may stop, which will lead to the loss of thousands <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/ne-byvaet-zhenskih-i-muzhskih-professij\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/ne-byvaet-zhenskih-i-muzhskih-professij\/\">jobs<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Analysts believe that the coal industry needs deep modernization and diversification. Switching to more environmentally friendly technologies and searching for new markets will help reduce losses.
