Energy for production will be supplied by solar panels from Kass\u00f8, the largest solar park in Northern Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electro-methanol is considered a promising alternative to diesel fuel and fuel oil, since its use is accompanied by almost no CO\u2082 emissions. This is especially important for regions with heavy shipping traffic, such as the Baltic Sea.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to environmentalists, switching to such fuel will reduce the toxic load on marine ecosystems. Fewer harmful particles will settle in the water, which will have a positive effect on marine life. In addition, air quality in port cities and on ships will improve.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, widespread adoption of electro-methanol depends on government support. <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/intervyu-s-borisom-kurczevym-chto-nuzhno-dlya-uspeha-startapa\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/intervyu-s-borisom-kurczevym-chto-nuzhno-dlya-uspeha-startapa\/\">Subsidies<\/a> could accelerate the development of alternative fuels, including bioethanol and biodiesel.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, electro-methanol remains in short supply due to high production costs. Its creation requires a large amount of energy from renewable sources. In Denmark, the main consumers were Maersk, Lego and Novo Nordisk.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the future, this type of fuel can be used not only in shipping, but also in aviation, as well as the chemical industry.
