Rosatom plans to begin mass production next year <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/kak-najti-litijsoderzhashhie-pegmatity-nazemnoj-gravirazvedkoj\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/kak-najti-litijsoderzhashhie-pegmatity-nazemnoj-gravirazvedkoj\/\">lithium-ion<\/a> batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The head of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, and the governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Besprozvannykh, visited the site of the future plant in Neman on May 2, 2025. At the moment, 80% of the construction of the buildings has been completed, installation of utility networks and interior finishing are underway.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The site employs more than 1,700 workers and 170 pieces of equipment. By the end of the year it is planned to complete the installation of equipment and conduct comprehensive tests.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Likhachev, pilot production will begin at the end of 2025, and <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/metally-v-tvoem-smartfone\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/metally-v-tvoem-smartfone\/\">serial production<\/a> batteries will start in 2026. The gigafactory will become a key link in the development of Russian electric mobility.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The production will occupy 23.6 hectares, and the length of the lines will be 2.5 km. The enterprise&#8217;s capacity is 4 GWh per year, which will provide batteries for up to 50 thousand electric vehicles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If demand grows, Rosatom can expand production to 14 GWh.
