This is part of the national project \u201cNew Materials and Chemistry\u201d, which will help reduce dependence on imports.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the coming years, about 30 new production chains will be launched in Russia. They will allow the production of more than 700 types of products, including alloys, magnets, polysilicon and laser materials.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The national project provides for the construction of new enterprises and the modernization of ore enrichment technologies. Particular attention will be paid to the separation of concentrates &#8211; this is a key stage in the production of rare and rare earth metals.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the past 30 years, Russia has been purchasing <a data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/redkozemelnye-metally-novaya-neft-i-pri-chem-tut-grenlandiya\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/redkozemelnye-metally-novaya-neft-i-pri-chem-tut-grenlandiya\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rare earth metals<\/a> abroad. However, by 2030 the country plans to reduce imports in many areas, including biotechnological and chemical products.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, mineral reserves in Russia are estimated at 658 million tons, of which more than 28 million tons are rare earth metals. The main difficulty is their extraction from complex ores, which requires new technologies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Increasing the production of niobium, tantalum, tungsten and beryllium will strengthen the country&#8217;s technological independence.
