Output remained virtually unchanged from the same period in 2025, with the Areal Group continuing to dominate regional gold mining.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figures underscore the resilience of Chukotka&#8217;s mining industry. Matching last year&#8217;s production is considered a solid achievement for one of Russia&#8217;s most remote mining regions, where operations are challenged by harsh Arctic conditions, limited logistics, and a short operating season. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Areal Group remained the region&#8217;s largest producer, mining 7.4 tonnes of gold, or roughly 70% of Chukotka&#8217;s total output. Production was concentrated at the company&#8217;s three flagship operations: Kekura, Kupol, and Valunisty, which continue to form the backbone of the region&#8217;s gold industry.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The remaining 30% of production came from other mining companies, including Mayskoye, operated by Polymetal, Karalveem Mine, the Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, and several smaller producers that collectively contributed to regional output.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside gold production, miners recovered 38.3 tonnes of silver. Although silver is not the primary target at most of Chukotka&#8217;s operations, it remains an important by-product that adds value to overall production. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first-half results indicate that Chukotka&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/en\/kolyma-gold-people-state-why-the-past-has-not-gone-away\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/kolyma-nasledie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gold<\/a> sector continues to deliver consistent performance.
