The competition received 74 submissions from 34 companies, and 118 films were accepted for consideration. The top award went to Polyus\u2019s series \u201cGolden People,\u201d while the special prize of the Association \u201cRussian Mining Industrialists\u201d went to GV Gold\u2019s film about a century of <a href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/en\/placer-gold-at-a-dead-end-licenses-exist-but-extraction-is-impossible\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/rossypnoe-zoloto-tupik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dredge mining<\/a> in Aldan.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The festival\u2019s Grand Prix went to the \u201cGolden People\u201d project by Polyus. The director was Kristina Kozlova and the producer was Valdis Pelsh. The series also won the \u201cBest Popular Science Film\u201d category and received the special \u201cDiscovery\u201d award.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Special attention was given to GV Gold\u2019s film \u201c100 Years of the Aldan Dredge Fleet.\u201d The special prize of the Association \u201cRussian Mining Industrialists\u201d was presented by Vladimir Kuragin, deputy executive director of the organization. The decision to grant the award was made by Sergey Kononenko, acting executive director. The film tells the story of technological development, the establishment of production, and <a href=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/en\/kolyma-gold-people-state-why-the-past-has-not-gone-away\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/geoconversation.org\/kolyma-nasledie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">several generations of miners<\/a> who developed the subsoil of the Far East.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other winners were distributed as follows. Seligdar took first place with the film \u201cLook for It at \u2018Poisk\u2019. Diary of a Children\u2019s Geological Camp.\u201d Nornickel won the innovation category with \u201cThe Birth of an Underground Machine.\u201d GV Gold took third place for \u201cThe Golden Team of GV Gold.\u201d The Vernadsky State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences received the prize for best film on environmental projects, \u201cMining with Care.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ceremony took place as part of the MINEX Russia Mining Forum.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MineMovie-2026 confirmed that the industry knows how to speak about itself in the language of documentary film.
