The regulator overturned its May revocation decision and extended the permit to October 18, 2030. The company has gained four years to continue work on an asset with resources of about 67,000 tonnes of antimony and 222,000 ounces of gold.

The story began on May 28, 2026, when Slovakia’s Ministry of Environment decided to revoke the license. The company disagreed and used all available legal avenues, including an appeal to the minister. On October 2, the regulator annulled the revocation decision and reinstated the license, which was due to expire on October 18. A decision to extend it by four years was made at the same time.

According to the estimate, the project contains inferred resources of 6.5 million tonnes of ore at an average grade of 1.02% antimony and 1.06 grams of gold per tonne. This yields approximately 67,000 tonnes of antimony and 222,000 ounces of gold.

Executive Chairman Thomas Hüser called the decision a foundation for confidently advancing the project and a confirmation of Slovakia’s commitment. CEO Scott Eldridge noted that the license reinstatement is an important milestone for the company and for Europe as a whole, which has no antimony mining of its own and depends heavily on external suppliers.

The company plans to create a local advisory board for dialogue with communities and authorities. Talks have already begun with Slovakia’s Ministry of Economy on moving from exploration to a full mining permit. Particular attention will be paid to upgrading wastewater treatment and to cooperation with the Technical University of Košice in mineral processing and water management.

Following the license decision, company representatives began consultations with the EU on Trojárová’s potential contribution to meeting the goals of the European Critical Raw Materials Act.

The license reinstatement removes the uncertainty that had hung over the project since May. Military Metals now has four years to prove that Trojárová can become a responsible source of antimony for the European market and reduce the region’s dependence on imports.

Source: Military Metals Corp.

Canada’s Military Metals has secured the reinstatement and extension of the exploration license for its flagship Trojárová antimony-gold project in Slovakia.
