    Associations and conferences are not only a meeting place, but also a tool for career development. In order for participation in them to be beneficial, it is important to approach this consciously: not just be on the list, but use the platforms for growth, new contacts and projects. Here are some practical steps to help you get the most out of your professional community.<\/p>\n\n\n

    Conferences as part of a scientist\u2019s journey<\/strong>. Alexandra Volkova is a geophysicist and teacher who built a career through participating in conferences and is now changing university education from the inside. Read her story<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

    1. Schedule at least one conference.<\/strong> See what events are happening in 2025 in your area of \u200b\u200bexpertise. Don’t limit yourself to being a listener – think about whether you can speak. To do this, you don\u2019t have to be an employee of a scientific institute: now practical cases from production facilities are very valuable.<\/li>\n\n\n
    2. Think about the report.<\/strong> Conferences lack real work stories: how they solved a production problem, introduced a new technology, or dealt with a crisis. Such a report will be in demand by both colleagues and companies, because it is specific, and not advertising or \u201cout-of-touch\u201d science.<\/li>\n\n\n
