I thought when, after the demo lesson, I received homework on a topic a la a conversation between two girlfriends about shopping in a store.
Once upon a time I started learning a language, wanting only to overcome fear and get rid of attitudes like I have no ability for languages. Then it was enough to teach for the sake of teaching.
Now knowledge of English itself is no longer a goal, but only a tool to work in Canada. Understand what they tell me and be able to explain the task to others.
Having completed my first homework, I wrote it out and then sent my wishes to teacher Margarita about what I wanted from the classes:
– Act out scenes of the work process.
— Understand numbers by ear, since we communicate a lot via walkie-talkie and use profile and picket numbers.
— Be able to work with tables and data.
— Discuss topics, what are the differences in geophysics in Russia and Canada? What geophysical methods did you use in Russia? We can also talk about travel, hiking and outdoor gear.
Thank you for this list, it’s very handy ☺️
Margarita answered me.
I’ll take one of the topics for our Thursday lesson. We can discuss which one,
And yesterday we already discussed, What is the primary (main) difference between a geological field trip and a hiking trip?
I liked it, better than about shopping😉
P.S. I’m studying Here, if any of you are thinking about or continue to learn English.
