I will share step-by-step instructions for finding a job. At the beginning, it is important to clarify that in the labor market
- You and your skills, experience and achievements are a product that needs to be packaged attractively for an employer
- An interview or an interview is a sale. The employer is not looking for the ideal employee. He needs someone who will solve specific business problems.
Below are 5 steps that will definitely lead you to your dream job.
Before opening job sites
It is advisable to decide where you want to work in general, what is important to you? Do you want to go on business trips, work in the fields or just in the office? In what city, in a corporation or small company? What duties do you want to perform?
After you decide on the job you want, check whether you have enough skills and experience to send your resume to where you would like. If skills are lacking, make a plan where they can be obtained. If you need English, take lessons with a tutor, be able to work in a special program – find where you can learn this.
Research companies and the jobs they offer
Once you have decided where and how you want to work, make a list of suitable companies and carefully study what they do.
- Which job requirements are mandatory and which are desirable.
- What does the company do, what is its advantage in the market, what are the main areas of work. What values does he adhere to?
You’ll need this information to help you create your resume and cover letter, and it will also help you answer interview questions strategically.
Don’t send your resume thoughtlessly
Each resume and cover letter must be personalized, that is, meet the requirements of the vacancy. We make the necessary corrections with each response to a vacancy. Yes, it will take more time, but finding a job is also work and cannot be approached carelessly.

Writing a cover letter
A cover letter or application is what is sent along with your resume. You can’t send a resume without explanation, as if they’ll figure it out on their own.
- Write what vacancy you are applying for and where you saw it.
- Go through the points: which of the vacancies do you qualify for and which do not. Remember that before sending your resume, we study the vacancy and its requirements. We respond to these requirements.
- Add examples and facts to each point.
- If I have limitations or do not meet some important point in the vacancy, write about it.
- Leave the door open. We do not oblige the addressee to be indebted to us and respond.
I didn’t get a response to my resume
You can remind yourself in a couple of weeks, but without fanaticism, of course. Once I sent my resume directly to the director of the company, and in response I received silence. It was inconvenient for me to remind myself, although preliminary agreements had already been made.
But I overcame the fear of seeming uncomfortable and wrote. In response, I received gratitude for reminding me of myself and a couple of days later my first interview took place in English.
