A unique online guide has been launched in Russia “Guide to Russian energy cities”. The project tells about cities whose history and development are inextricably linked with the energy industry, geological discoveries and industrial enterprises.
The new service invites travelers to immerse themselves in the history of cities that grew thanks to deposits of oil, gas, coal and other minerals. The guide covers both large cities and small settlements, where energy has become the basis of life and development.
Each city in the guide offers unique tours of industry and energy-related sites. Tourists will be able to see famous enterprises, industrial monuments and modern energy complexes.
Particular attention is paid to the visual component: the guide presents photographs by the best Russian and world photographers. They captured the natural landscapes, architectural landmarks and industrial landscapes that make these cities unique.
The project was implemented by the Russian Geographical Society together with the editors of the popular science website “Energy+”. It will be a useful tool for those interested in industrial tourism and wanting to learn more about the role of energy in Russia’s development.
The online guide “Guide to Russian Energy Cities” is an opportunity to discover new facets of Russia, learn about its industrial heritage and enjoy the beauty of cities that have become symbols of the country’s energy power.
