Cherepovets is one of the most attractive cities for employment in Russia. The key plant of the Severstal company is located here, where excellent conditions have been created for workers. Stable salaries, social benefits and development programs make this city a leader in terms of living standards for employees of the metallurgical industry.
According to data for 2024, the average salary at Severstal was 144 thousand rubles. Even beginning specialists receive a decent income: 64–73 thousand rubles for workers and 81.5–99.5 thousand rubles for managers. Staff turnover remains low at just 5.6%, indicating high employee satisfaction.
The company invests heavily in social welfare. In 2024, 3.8 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes – 2.5 times more than a year earlier. Employees can count on:
- VHI and compensation for healthy eating;
- preferential holidays for families (discounts up to 90%);
- mortgage support and short-term loans;
- training and career development (42.3 hours per year per employee).
Almost a third of Severstal employees are women. There is a Women’s Club for them, as well as career development programs. Young professionals receive allowances, compensation for relocation and housing. In 2024, 1,700 newcomers underwent adaptation through the mobile application.
The company has an Ethics Committee and a hotline for employees. In 2024, the number of requests increased to 4,674 – this is due to new support measures. However, there are also problems: last year three cases of commercial bribery were identified.
Cherepovets offers ideal conditions for working at Severstal: high salaries, social guarantees and opportunities for growth. This makes the city one of the best in Russia for employment in the metallurgical industry.
