Specialists The Geodata Center of the Faculty of Geography of the National Research University Higher School of Economics has created a catalog with open geographical and natural data. It includes 27 resources to support your research and practice.
The catalog is divided into seven thematic blocks:
- General geographic data – Natural Earth, OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps.
- Relief – SRTM, ETOPO, MERIT DEM, GEDTM30.
- Hydrology – HydroSHEDS.
- Soils and vegetation – HWSD, Soil Database, Land Cover.
- Geology – USGS data.
- Climate and weather – CHELSA, information from Roshydromet.
- Ecology – WDPA, OpenAQ, EDGAR and others.
Each dataset is accompanied by instructions for downloading and using.
The catalog will be useful:
- Students and researchers in the field of geography, ecology, geology.
- GIS and cartography specialists.
- Anyone who works with spatial data.
“We created this catalog for internal purposes, but decided to share it with colleagues. Now students and scientists will be able to find the necessary data faster,” noted Oksana Yudova, leading analyst at the Geodata Center of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
