The Udokan Copper company was the first in the Russian mining and metallurgical industry to launch unique domestic software systems – “Sovetchik” and “Maestro” – at its mining and metallurgical plant (MMC). These systems control technological processes in real time, significantly increasing efficiency and consistency of product quality.
New software is radically changing the approach to production management. If previously operators made decisions independently, now their work is supported by smart digital assistants. The Adviser complex analyzes hundreds of parameters every 15-30 seconds, suggests optimal actions and independently adjusts the operation of the equipment if necessary. Thanks to this, the number of manual adjustments in key areas has been reduced by more than 70%.
The second complex, “Maestro”, serves as the central production dispatcher. He coordinates all production flows of the plant, collects and analyzes data from the “Adviser”, assesses the mutual influence of various technological stages and helps to find additional reserves for increasing efficiency.
The pilot launch of the system took place in July 2025 at the collective flotation site. By the end of October it will be operating in the entire grinding unit and sulphide flotation circuit. Sovetchik was put into operation in November 2024 and is now successfully operating at the stages of grinding, collective flotation and concentrate thickening.
By November 2025, both systems will be fully integrated with each other, which will create a single platform for intelligent dialogue and take production analytics to a fundamentally new level. The introduction of domestic software not only increases productivity, but also ensures technological independence from imported solutions. Even a small increase in efficiency of 1-2% provides significant economic benefits throughout the entire enterprise.
The project was implemented jointly with the system integrator Proptimise LLC with the active participation of specialists from the control system services, IT department, operators and production technologists.
The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
