ALROSA continues a large-scale upgrade of its production facilities. In Mirny, innovative installations for processing diamond-containing raw materials were introduced at the third processing plant. The new equipment uses microwave technology, which greatly improves production efficiency.
Previously, the factory used German installations, but after testing, together with Yakutniproalmaz, they chose Chinese machines of the M6 series. They heat the diamonds with microwaves and use high pressure to remove impurities. This not only improves product quality, but also reduces the amount of manual labor.
The new installations are equipped with an exhaust system, which makes the process safe for workers. The increased capacity of the chambers allows you to process more raw materials without loss of quality.
In parallel with the introduction of new technologies, ALROSA is strengthening the factory’s infrastructure. In 2025, the roofing panels were replaced with lighter and more durable ones. New designs retain heat better and withstand snow loads. The load-bearing beams were additionally strengthened to ensure the durability of the structure.
In total, it is planned to update about 5,000 square meters of roofing. Pumping stations are also being repaired at the industrial site: panels are replaced and metal structures are treated with anti-corrosion compounds. All work must be completed by the beginning of the next season.
ALROSA is actively developing projects outside of Yakutia. In July, the company announced the start of industrial development of the Karpinsky-2 tube at field named after Lomonosov in the Arkhangelsk region. The reserves of this pipe are estimated at more than 40 million tons of ore.
This is the third pipe in the region being developed by Severalmaz, a subsidiary of ALROSA. Previously, production was carried out at the Arkhangelskaya and Karpinsky-1 pipes. Preparations for industrial operation began in the first quarter of 2025, although the first diamonds were obtained here back in 2018 during trial work.
The introduction of new technologies and expansion of production allow ALROSA to strengthen its position in the global diamond market. The company not only improves the efficiency of existing production facilities, but also develops new ones deposits, which guarantees stable growth in the coming years.
