In Mirny, at the Khozaktiv-2026 corporate forum, the head of ALROSA, Pavel Marinycheva, said that the Mir-Gluboky mine could be launched in 2027. The project is almost ready: the plan for developing reserves at a depth of 575 to 1300 meters has been approved by Glavgosexpertiza. The final decision on the launch will depend on the economic situation and the reduction in the cost of borrowed funds. The company is counting on improving conditions to invest in deeper horizons.
At the same time, ALROSA is extending the life of the existing Aikhal mine. In 2025, 4.4 billion rubles were allocated for the development of the Aikhal Mining and Processing Plant. The funds were used for the construction of underground facilities at horizons from 100 to 400 meters. Thanks to this, the life of the mine was extended until 2039.
Increasing production efficiency is already producing results. A revision of logistics in the operation of equipment at the Yubileiny quarry made it possible to extract an additional 400 thousand cubic meters of rock mass, and the automation of loading skips at the Aikhal mine added another 36 thousand tons of ore to the treasury.
ALROSA is simultaneously preparing a new deep mine and expanding the resource base of existing facilities. This is part of the company’s long-term strategy to maintain diamond mining against the backdrop of depletion of open-pit mines in Yakutia.
