Specialists from RN-Vankor (a subsidiary of Rosneft) together with the Tyumen Petroleum Scientific Center (TPSC) successfully completed a project aimed at increasing the efficiency of drilling production wells. Thanks to innovative solutions, the company achieved significant savings – more than 500 million rubles.
Scientists used an advanced method that included detailed seismic geological analysis and accurate prediction of the occurrence of oil-bearing formations. These strata are formed by ancient river systems, making them particularly difficult to study.
In addition, experts assessed the potential production of new wells and their impact on existing ones. To model the processes, the improved corporate software package RN-KIM was used. This hydrodynamic simulator allows you to analyze in detail the performance of wells after hydraulic fracturing, taking into account the characteristics of fluid flow in fractures.
To promptly adjust the drilling trajectory, a pre-created sector geological model of the field was used.
The introduction of new technologies made it possible to increase the efficiency of penetration by 7.5%. The total economic effect exceeded 500 million rubles. The experience gained is planned to be extended to other Rosneft fields, which will help optimize drilling in difficult geological conditions.
