On April 10 in Moscow, at the Mining Institute NUST “MISIS”, the final of the third season of the popular science competition “Men in Helmets” will take place. This is an unusual event where future geologists, miners and specialists in related fields will prove that complex research can be talked about vividly, with humor and real passion. The organizers invite everyone who is interested in the subsoil and modern technologies to join the audience – in person or online.

The competition brings together students studying in areas of the enlarged group of specialties “Geotechnology” and related ones. The main task is not just to present scientific works, but to do it in such a way that the listener laughs and then thinks. Participants go through several stages: registration in February, selection by the expert community in early March, then intensive preparation with trainings, master classes and consultations from mentors.

The finale will be the culmination: at the point where innovation is born MISIS University (Leninsky Prospekt, 6, building 1) students will perform in front of an expert jury, invited guests from partner companies and everyone. Starts at 16:30.

For those who cannot come, an online broadcast will be organized. The link will appear on the day of the event. To get into the hall or access the broadcast, you must pre-registration on the website.

The organizers emphasize that the competition not only supports young talents, but also develops their scientific communication skills, which are critically important in any professional environment. And the bright performances of the participants help to popularize mining, making it understandable and relatable to a wide audience.
