The Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute (MGRI) announces enrollment for the specialization “Geomechanics” in the direction of “Mining”. The 2025 program offers unique knowledge at the intersection of technology and natural processes, preparing sought-after specialists for the mining industry.
A geomechanist is an engineer who ensures the safety of mining operations by predicting the behavior of rocks. Its task is to prevent collapses, optimize production and reduce risks. With the development of technology, the profession is becoming even more significant: today artificial intelligence, Big Data and modern monitoring methods are being actively introduced into it.
Students will master:
- Modeling of geomechanical processes;
- Use of seismic and radar technologies for monitoring;
- Data analysis using AI;
- Ensuring the sustainability of quarries and underground structures;
- Numerical methods and kinematic analysis.
Training takes place in correspondence and online format, which allows you to combine study with work.
Geomechanics specialists are in demand in:
- Mining companies;
