In the north-west of Russia, crystals continue to be found that are becoming a world sensation. In the Vladimir Grib deposit diamond discovered gem quality weighing 228.62 carats. The dimensions of the stone are impressive: 5 by 3 centimeters with a thickness of almost 2 centimeters. This is already the 52nd unique specimen mined at this mining and processing plant, and the first large stone in the coming year.
Such finds are extremely rare – less than 1% of all mined diamonds can boast of such characteristics. The discovered crystal belongs to the second type, which means the minimal presence of nitrogen in the structure. Thanks to this, the diamond has exceptional transparency and purity, which is especially valued in jewelry.
The shape of the stone is unusual – it resembles a neat bow. This adds collectible value to it in addition to its weight characteristics. Experts preliminary estimate the find to be worth more than 10 million rubles. Such a high cost is explained by a combination of large size, rarity of shape and ideal optical properties.
The company where the crystal was mined is showing stable growth. At the end of last year, the volume of extracted diamonds in the Arkhangelsk region exceeded targets and reached 4.2 million carats. This confirms the effectiveness of the technologies used and the competent management of mining operations.
Plans for the current year include intensifying geological exploration work. The main efforts will be directed to the Zimneberezhny region, where there are already promising foundations. The study of Krasnoborskaya Square will also be expanded. The goal is to increase the mineral resource base and ensure stable production for years to come.
For the region, such finds are not random episodes, but a natural result of systemic work. The Arkhangelsk region is confidently consolidating its status as one of the key diamond provinces of the country, and local miners are proving that they can compete with the best world samples.
