On May 4, 2026, in Mirny, which is rightly called the diamond capital of Russia, the new “Diamond Museum” opened its doors to visitors. This is a unique space where guests can trace the full cycle of transformation of a precious stone: from its origin in the bowels of the earth to the brilliance of a jewelry diamond.
The museum’s exhibition turns complex geological and technological processes into a fascinating interactive journey. Using virtual reality technology, visitors literally “descend” into an underground mine, watch the diamond mining process and learn how a rough mineral is cut to become a finished piece of jewelry. The main visual emphasis of the exhibition is diamond panel, the total weight of which is about 9.5 thousand carats.
The museum is located at Lenin Street, 41/1. It is open daily from 9:00 to 19:00. Day off is Monday.
The new museum will become an important point on the map of Mirny, attracting both tourists and anyone interested in the history of diamond mining and jewelry. It is a place where science and technology meet art, making it possible to understand how one of the most valuable treasures on earth.
