The Polymetal company commissioned a new line for extracting gold from difficult ores. The production facility, located at the Amur MMC, became the first in Russia capable of processing raw materials with a high content of sulfides and organic carbon.
On April 10, the second production line started operating at the Amur Hydrometallurgical Plant (part of Polymetal). Its main advantage is the ability to process double-hardness gold ores, which were previously sent abroad.
The new technology is based on autoclave oxidation, which effectively destroys not only sulfides, but also organic compounds. The production is equipped with a closed water circulation and reverse osmosis system, which makes it more environmentally friendly and economical.
This project reduces the dependence of Russian gold mining on imports. Now complex concentrates can be processed domestically, rather than transported abroad.
With the launch of the second line, the plant’s capacity will increase by 50% – up to 30 tons of gold per year. The total investment in the project exceeded 60 billion rubles.
The new production of Polymetal is an important step for Russian industry. It will not only increase gold production, but also reduce technological dependence on other countries.
