The Gazprom Neft company has developed a set of domestic technologies that make it possible to efficiently extract oil from complex deposits. These solutions have already shown good results and can increase production volumes by billions of tons.

According to Rosnedra, more than half of the oil reserves in Russia are classified as hard-to-recover. This means that without special technologies their development is unprofitable. In recent years, the volume of such reserves has increased by almost 4 billion tons.

Gazprom Neft is actively working to solve this problem. In 2021, a federal project for the development of hard-to-recover hydrocarbons was launched. It involves not only oil workers, but also scientists, equipment manufacturers and service companies.

The company presented more than ten technologies that cover all stages of production: from drilling to enhanced oil recovery. Among the key achievements:

  • Own reagents – increase production by 21%.
  • New methods of formation processing are especially effective for old fields in Western Siberia.
  • Digital solutions – optimize processes and reduce costs.

Thanks to these developments, production costs were reduced by three times. This makes development cost-effective deposits, which were previously considered unprofitable.

There is less readily available oil, and the transition to complex reserves is inevitable. Gazprom Neft technologies make this process economically profitable.

The company not only created ready-made solutions, but also laid the foundation for future developments. This means that in the coming years the industry will be able to develop even more complex fields without loss of efficiency.
