The large-scale industry championship Nedra.Exploration Cup, which brought together the best specialists in the geological industry, has ended. This event was a real celebration of professionalism, innovation and team spirit.
The tournament broke all records for participation. 270 specialists from 52 leading companies and 17 universities in the country competed for the title of the best. 80 teams were formed, of which only the 8 strongest teams reached the finals. This coverage confirmed the high industry interest in digital transformation.
The championship participants solved real production problems. They worked with a real deposit in the professional software Nedra.Exploration GM. The finalists created complex seismogeological models using machine learning tools.
The use of the intelligent assistant Nedra.MIND deserves special attention. This advanced AI assistant provided expert support on software functionality and geology. The participants conducted a detailed analysis of the resource base and developed programs for additional exploration of promising objects.
First place and the main prize were won by the “First Team of NOVATEK STC” from NOVATEK STC LLC. The second place was taken by the PetroMates team (PetroTrace LLC). “Horizons Hunters” from JSC “MiMGO” received bronze.
The organizers established special nominations. The “VendianCrew” team (INK LLC) was awarded “for opening a new region”. “The most creative report” was presented by the “Pearls in Siberia” team (LUKOIL-Engineering LLC/TatNIPIneft PJSC). The title “Future of Geology” was awarded to the Tyka Method student team from St. Petersburg Mining University.
The main prize—500,000 rubles and a trip to the ProGRRess’25 forum—found its heroes. All winners received valuable awards. Each participant gained invaluable experience working with new technologies, added a successful digital case to their portfolio, and gained in-demand skills.
Nedra.Exploration Cup proved: the future of geology lies in digital technologies and strong professional communities. The championship is over, but the community of like-minded people is just beginning. Follow Nedra Digital’s new projects – together we are changing geology for the better.
