In 2025, Polymetal plans to obtain the first significant results in two promising junior projects — Agynja in Yakutia and Kumbinsky in the Sverdlovsk region. This was reported by the acting Head of the Directorate of Joint Projects Karina Andreeva at SPIEF-2025.
The Agynja site in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is considered one of the most promising. According to preliminary estimates, copper equivalent reserves here reach 1.5 million tons. This year the company will focus on scheduling and testing technologies, including XRT enrichment, to improve the quality of ore before sending it for processing.
“Now we are working in detail on the program to reach the design indicators,” explained Karina Andreeva. “The results of the 2025 research will help more accurately assess the properties of ore and choose the optimal methods for its processing.”
In parallel, Polymetal will continue to develop the Kumba project in the Sverdlovsk region, where significant reserves are also expected to be discovered copper. Detailed research will determine the potential deposits and a strategy for its development.
Over the years of cooperation with junior companies, Polymetal has invested 2.5 billion rubles in 11 projects. Today, five initiatives are at an active stage of implementation that can significantly strengthen Russia’s mineral resource base.
2025 will be a key year for assessing the prospects of the Yakut and Ural projects. The introduction of modern technologies and proper planning of work will allow Polymetal to strengthen its position in the non-ferrous metals market. Follow the company’s news to stay updated on new achievements.
