Seven promising sites for early subsoil studies received licenses from private investors. Among them are major players in the mining industry: Alrosa, Polyus, Nordgold, AGD-Diamonds and Zvezda Sibir.
The search will begin this year deposits gold, silver, copper, molybdenum and diamonds. Geological exploration work will cover Yakutia, the Arkhangelsk region, the Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk territories, as well as Chukotka. The total amount of financing for 2025–2027 will be 1.11 billion rubles.
Projects are implemented with the participation of institutions subordinate to Rosnedra. In five areas, it is planned to further study previously explored territories (scale 1:200,000) together with the Karpinsky Institute. The other two are the creation of geochemical foundations for maps of the same scale with the involvement of specialists from the Institute of Mineralogy and Geochemistry.
A new list of areas for geological exploration for 2026–2028 is being prepared. Financing will be provided both from the federal budget and from funds from subsoil users.
These investments will not only strengthen the country’s mineral resource base, but will also create new jobs in the regions.
