The Arsenal company announced a large project for the extraction of rare earth metals (REM) in the Murmansk region. Investments will amount to 10 billion rubles, including the construction of an enrichment plant at the Kuljokskaya Square deposit.
JSC Arsenal plans to develop zircon-britholite ores in the Lovozero region. The project includes the creation of a crushing and screening complex and a processing plant. According to the general director of the company, Rinat Gainutdinov, a full production cycle will be established here – from mining to the production of high-tech products.
Every year the enterprise will be able to produce about 3 thousand tons of rare earth metals, including zirconium, lanthanum, cerium and other popular elements. The total reserves of the deposit are estimated at 20 million tons of ore.
The implementation of the project will strengthen Russia’s position in the rare earth metals market and create new jobs in the Murmansk region.
