Sakhalin State University has become one of the 50 best universities in Russia, where “Advanced Engineering Schools” have been created. Participation in this program, as well as in Priority 2030, allows the university to strengthen its scientific potential and train specialists for the technological development of the Far East.
SakhSU successfully defended its participation in two federal programs – “Advanced Engineering Schools” and “Priority 2030”. These initiatives are aimed at developing engineering education, strengthening ties with industrial partners and carrying out research and development work.
As part of the programs, the university has already created modern laboratories, such as the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering, launched jointly with the companies Sakhalin Energy, Gazprominvest and Gazpromdobycha Shelf. Here students and scientists test equipment and develop new technologies.
Also, the Gazprombank Research Center has been opened at Sakhalin State University, which is engaged in the digitalization of the oil and gas industry. University specialists are working on creating digital twins and training complexes for offshore production, which is especially important in conditions of limited access to foreign software.
In 2024, it was planned to launch eight more laboratories, including chemical analytical and materials science. In addition, in 2023, construction began on the SakhalinTech campus, which will become the center of scientific and educational development of the region.
SakhSU is actively developing as a scientific and educational center of the Far East. Participation in federal programs and the creation of modern laboratories allow the university to train highly qualified specialists and contribute to the technological development of the region.
