In 2025, the Magadan region plans to intensify inspections of gold mining companies. Also this year, at least 300 mining licenses will be checked.

Particular attention will be paid to river basins and the Kolyma Reservoir, which are important ecosystems in the region. The governor noted that the commission intends to closely monitor compliance with environmental standards in these territories.

Last year, using aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles, about 15 thousand square meters were checked. km of territories where gold mining is carried out. During the inspection, several dozen cases of violation of environmental legislation, as well as violations in the field of forest and water use, were identified and suppressed. Criminal and administrative cases were initiated, and illegal gold mining factories were closed.

In addition, heavy equipment used for illegal gold mining was seized during the raids. Security and supervisory authorities took measures to stop illegal activities and prevent damage to the nature of the region.

The Subsoil Use Control Commission consists of representatives of various departments, including law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Magadan Region.
