An important meeting of the Public Council took place at the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Russia. Participants led by Minister Irek Faizullin and Chairman of the Council Sergei Stepashin reviewed national approaches to seismic safety and measures to simplify the technological connection of new facilities to power grids.
The meeting was devoted to practical steps to protect the population and infrastructure in earthquake-prone regions. Updated seismic zoning maps were presented to help accurately determine risk levels in building design. Particular attention was paid to analyzing the consequences of the recent earthquake in Kamchatka. The experience of inspecting affected facilities will allow us to adjust construction standards and strengthen the protection of future structures.
Minister Irek Fayzullin noted the success of the infrastructure development program. Over seven years, 98 socially significant facilities were built and put into operation in 12 regions. Among them are 42 schools, 32 kindergartens and 10 residential buildings. By the end of the year, it is planned to complete the construction of 16 more such facilities in seven regions of the country.
An important topic of discussion was technological connection to electrical networks. Simplifying this procedure for developers will speed up the commissioning of new housing and social infrastructure. The Russian Ministry of Construction is open to dialogue and is ready to consider all constructive proposals from the expert community.
At the end of the event, a number of representatives of the construction industry were awarded departmental awards for their professional contributions.
The meeting confirmed the readiness of the Russian Ministry of Construction to work together with experts to improve the safety and comfort of life for citizens. The solutions being developed in the field of seismic protection and regulation in the construction industry have a specific practical focus and meet modern challenges.
