The Polyus company, one of the world leaders in gold mining, together with Tomsk Polytechnic University, launched a corporate program “Production Geology”. The project is aimed at training highly qualified specialists for the mining industry, with an emphasis on practical skills and modern technologies.
The Production Geology program has become a new stage in cooperation between Polyus and Tomsk Polytechnic University. Students majoring in Applied Geology will have a unique opportunity to study with leading university teachers and practicing company specialists. The program includes lectures, practical classes and internships at Polyus enterprises, which will allow students to immerse themselves in real production processes.
For the first intake, 15 4th year students were selected, each of whom will receive a corporate scholarship from the company. The training will take place in a full-time format, and at the end of the program, students will be able to pass a final certification and receive a diploma of professional retraining. Successful graduates will receive an invitation to work at Polyus.
As Konstantin Garanin, vice president of the company for mineral resources, noted, the program combines academic knowledge and practical experience, which makes it unique for training personnel in the geological industry.
The launch of the Production Geology program underscores Polyus’ commitment to developing the industry’s human resources potential. The joint efforts of the company and Tomsk Polytechnic University will make it possible to train specialists ready to work with modern technologies and challenges of the mining industry.
