The authorities of the Trans-Baikal Territory are introducing an updated taxation system for enterprises operating in the field of mining. The changes are aimed at increasing budget revenues and stimulating deep processing of raw materials directly in the region.

The main adjustments will affect new investment projects and residents of priority development areas. For them, the income tax rate in the first five years increases from 2.5% to 5%. In the next five years it will be 15%. Similar conditions apply to companies mining non-ferrous ores metals.

Iron ore mining enterprises will pay 13.5% during the second five-year period instead of the previous 12%. The increase will also affect tungsten-molybdenum ore miners.

The tax burden on related industries serving the mining complex is also growing. We are talking about companies providing specialized services, producing concrete, cement, gypsum products, metal structures and providing warehouse services. Experts attribute this to increased competition in these markets.

At the same time, to stimulate a separate strategic direction, the income tax rate for enterprises working with uranium was reduced to 10%.

According to estimates from the regional Ministry of Planning, the new rules will help attract an additional 1.5 billion rubles to the regional budget. Moreover, the reform is designed to equalize the load between different sectors of the economy and create additional incentives for processing extracted raw materials directly in Transbaikalia, which contributes to the development of industries with higher added value.

Thus, tax changes in the Trans-Baikal Territory are aimed at strengthening the regional budget and creating conditions for a qualitative transformation of the mining industry.
