The Turkish mining holding Miryildiz Mining is expanding its geography of activity by launching a large-scale mining project gold and copper in Eastern Kazakhstan. Investments in the construction of the mining and processing plant will exceed $480 million.
The Turkish company Miryildiz Mining, which has almost ten years of experience in gold and copper mining, has confirmed plans to launch production in Kazakhstan by the end of 2026. The general director of the company, Emrah Erdem, reported on successful cooperation with the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, which accelerates the implementation of the project.
The mining giant, which processes 1 million tons of copper ore annually, has chosen the Eastern region of Kazakhstan to operate. Geological exploration work has already been carried out in the Abay and Pavlodar regions, where experts assessed the potential of the deposits as exceptionally high. In the spring, the company presented details of the project for the construction of a mining and processing plant in the Zhanan-Boko-Zaisan gold mining zone.
The total investment in the new industrial facility will be $482 million. The project will create 2,000 jobs, which will be a significant contribution to the development of the regional economy. The company has already purchased some modern mining equipment and has begun preparatory work at the site.
Miryildiz Mining’s international expansion, including projects in the Central African Republic, Sierra Leone and Gambia, is now complemented by a strategically important presence in Kazakhstan. The implementation of the project will strengthen the country’s position in the global precious metals market and bring significant economic benefits to the region.
