The Gazprom Neft company has launched an all-Russian high-tech internship program “Young Talents in Science.” Program participants will be able to work in the company’s scientific and technological cluster in St. Petersburg, where they will engage in research in the field of petrochemistry and biotechnology. Every year, 100 of the best students from Russian universities will have the opportunity to join the company’s projects.
The internship competition is held as part of the Peaks of Management educational camp, which brings together gifted youth from all over the country. Last year, schoolchildren and students from 32 regions took part in it, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Tyumen and Omsk. Winners and prize-winners of All-Russian Olympiads, hackathons and startup competitions have already begun working in Gazprom Neft scientific teams in February.
The internship lasts from 3 to 6 months and is fully paid. Young scientists will have access to modern equipment of the scientific cluster, where they will be able to study technologies for the synthesis of environmentally friendly fuels, digital modeling, as well as the creation of polymers and carbon materials. These developments are used in various industries, including construction and metallurgy.
Mikhail Nikulin, head of the Gazprom Neft Industrial Innovation Center, noted that each trainee receives an individual approach that helps develop skills in the chosen scientific field. “We hope that in the future these young professionals will join our team and help the company move forward,” he added.
Rector of the Gazprom Neft Corporate University Igor Dementyev emphasized that the company’s educational ecosystem helps talented young people from the regions go from school to the country’s leading universities, and then successfully start a career in science and high technology. “An internship at our research center is an excellent start for young professionals, which opens doors to the industry,” he said.
For two years in a row, Gazprom Neft has been recognized as the most popular employer in industry according to the FutureToday and Best Company Awards ratings. These ratings take into account the opinions of 27 thousand students from 68 universities in Russia. The company’s success is largely due to its active support of young talents and the development of educational programs.
The high-tech internship program “Young Talents in Science” is not only an opportunity for students to gain unique experience, but also an important step for the development of the country’s scientific potential.
