The company “Diamonds of the Pomeranian Territory” presented the innovative IT platform Proex-Geology, which significantly simplifies and speeds up the search process diamond deposits. The development has already proven its effectiveness, reducing the volume of exploration drilling and increasing the accuracy of research.
Proex-Geology combines the functions of a geologist, prospector and forecaster in one digital environment. The platform analyzes large amounts of geological, geophysical and geochemical data, which makes it possible to more accurately identify promising areas for drilling.
“Previously, searching for one kimberlite pipe required drilling hundreds of wells. Now every eleventh well hits the target,” explained the company’s general director, Vladimir Shchukin.
Unlike Western programs such as ArcGIS, Geosoft and ERMapper, Russian development integrates all the necessary tools into a single system. It speeds up data processing, including archival materials of Soviet aeromagnetic surveys, and improves forecasting accuracy.
Development of the platform began in the 2000s with a small team of students and geologists. Over the course of a quarter of a century, the system has been improved: 450 new software modules have been added to it, automating the analysis of the earth’s crust and the identification of promising zones.
Thanks to Proex-Geology, the company was able to reduce the search area from 27 thousand square meters. km up to 2 thousand sq. m, maintaining a high probability of success. This allows you to save not only time, but also significant financial resources.
Currently, Almazy Pomorsky Krai is exploring three sites in the Arkhangelsk region where signs of diamond potential have been discovered. Our immediate plans include drilling and evaluation of reserves.
Despite interest from large mining companies, the developers do not plan to sell the platform. “This is our competitive advantage, and we intend to use it for further growth,” Shchukin emphasized.
Proex-Geology is an example of the successful implementation of digital technologies in geological exploration. The system not only improves diamond prospecting efficiency, but also reduces costs, opening up new opportunities for the industry.
