A group of scientists from the Far Eastern Geological Institute and Institute of Geology and environmental management of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences made an important discovery. Examining samples gold from the Pioneer mine, they discovered rare forms of nanogold that could impact the future of mining and use of this precious metal.

During the study it turned out that field There are tiny particles of gold ranging in size from 30 to 1000 nanometers. Among them:

  • Round particles (30–600 nm).
  • Elongated and needle-shaped (up to 1000 nm).
  • Ultra-thin gold (less than 50 nm), which cannot be seen under a regular microscope.

Such particles are rarely found in nature, and studying them will help to better understand how gold deposits are formed.

  • Production efficiency. Fine gold is often lost in traditional processing methods. New data will allow the development of more accurate technologies for its extraction.
  • Application in science and industry. Nanogold is used in medicine, electronics and catalysis. The discovery could accelerate the development of these areas.
  • Search for new deposits. Understanding the characteristics of nanogold will help geologists find previously unnoticed deposits.

The discovery of Russian scientists confirms that the processes of gold formation in nature are more complex than previously thought. Further research will not only improve mining methods, but may also reveal new pages of geological history.

This breakthrough highlights the importance of basic science for practical applications. In the future, nanogold could become the key to innovation in various industries, from medicine to high technology.
