At the Digital Solutions exhibition in Moscow, Gazprom Neft presented an interactive career navigator that helps schoolchildren and students build a development path in the IT industry. There was a virtual simulator at the company’s stand, allowing each visitor to try themselves in the role of a future specialist.

The navigator includes four sequential stages – from school to employment. At each level, participants learn the skills needed to work with today’s digital solutions, from basic digital literacy to Python programming and learning machine learning. This approach helps young people understand the requirements of the industry and choose the direction of professional growth.

The company identifies several key areas for future specialists: development of industrial IT infrastructure, management of complex systems, cybersecurity, as well as development of products based on artificial intelligence and computer vision. Training is supported by Gazprom Neft partners – schools, colleges and universities from dozens of regions. Their participation allows us to integrate training programs with real business practices and form a personnel reserve at all levels.

According to Oleg Tretyak, Director of Digital Transformation at Gazprom Neft, the company is creating an ecosystem of growth in which young people receive tools for development and an understanding of what competencies will be in demand tomorrow. The career navigator helps you navigate the variety of IT professions and choose the appropriate path.

Rector of the Gazprom Neft Corporate University Ilya Dementyev notes that the educational ecosystem covers the entire path of specialist training – from the first steps at school to corporate training. This system allows students and schoolchildren to build an individual track in advance and create a set of digital competencies for specific roles in the company.

The program includes several areas: “League of Schools” develops logical thinking and interest in technology, “League of Colleges” helps to master SQL and the basics of business processes, “League of Universities” deepens knowledge in Python, Data Science and machine learning. At the corporate level, participants apply the acquired skills on real projects. The ecosystem unites more than 80 educational institutions and reaches thousands of young people.

The new tool helps future IT professionals not only understand industry requirements, but also gain the practical skills necessary for a confident start in the high-tech field.

The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
