The Alchemist digital platform, which Gazpromneft – Lubricants uses to design formulations of motor oils and lubricants, is recognized as one of the key technological trends in the coming years. This follows from the study “Megatrends 2026”, prepared by the Industrial Innovation Association. Experts considered application of artificial intelligence when creating lubricants, one of the most cost-effective areas in high-tech business.
According to industry analysts, the machine learning systems that Gazpromneft-SM has already implemented into production will become one of the main engines of growth in the Russian economy in the next five years. The Ministry of Energy has calculated that in the oil and gas sector alone, the effect of such technologies can reach 5.4 trillion rubles.
The authors of the report emphasize that the industry is moving from one-time experimental projects to full-scale automation. For manufacturers of high-tech lubricants, this means that research and development work is accelerated many times over, and new services for customers are emerging based on the cloud infrastructure.
General Director of the company Anatoly Skoromets explained how the processes with the introduction of AI. Previously, the development of a new oil recipe from idea to production launch took up to six months. Now, thanks to the Alchemist system, this period has been reduced to several weeks. At the same time, he emphasized, the neural network does not replace engineers, but serves as a powerful analytical tool. The key role in decision making remains with the person who directs the algorithms and is responsible for the consistent quality of the products.
The fact that the development of Gazpromneft-SM is included in the list of industrial megatrends confirms that Russian business is relying on digital technologies. Companies that are already using artificial intelligence in manufacturing today are laying the foundation for technology leadership in the near future.
