The Toratau Geopark in Bashkortostan is officially included in the UNESCO World Geoparks Network. This is an important event for the Russian science and tourism, which opens up new opportunities for the development of the region.
The decision was made unanimously by the UNESCO Council in Chile. This is the second geopark in Bashkortostan to receive such a high international status after Yangantau. The organization’s experts especially noted the uniqueness of the territory’s geological and cultural sites.
Obtaining UNESCO Geopark status is of great importance for the region. This is not only international recognition of the value of natural and cultural heritage, but also an impetus for the development of tourism, education and science. Visiting such geoparks allows you not only to enjoy the beauty of nature, but also to learn interesting scientific and historical facts about the region.
Geoparks represent an integrated ecosystem where nature, culture, local communities and knowledge come together. Visiting them has become a popular format for educational tourism around the world.
Now tourists from all over the world have another reason to visit Bashkortostan – the unique natural and cultural sites of the Toratau Geopark, which have received international recognition.
